After 15 years as an executive in big corporations she decided to make her passion her profession and initiated an Innovation Program with her last employer Bayer Pharma AG which was one-of-a-kind within the whole organization and produced an impressive track record of innovation success stories. Verena is a manager by training and a trend-spotter by heart; she holds an MBA and speaks 5 languages. She is a world-traveller and enjoys working in diverse cultural environments. She is a people-person with an infectious enthusiasm who genuinely loves her job. Besides running her own business she teaches creativity methodologies with the Institute for Entrepreneurship & Innovation at University of Economics in Vienna, Austria and design thinking at the Donau Universität Krems. Verena loves Bikram Yoga and spending time with her family. She is a passionate cook and foodie.
Mariana Wirz joined the 1030 family from Switzerland as an innovation facilitator & strategist. She successfully completed here bachelor studies in media & communication and her master studies in management, organization studies & cultural theory at the University of St.Gallen. Mariana had the chance to work in very different environments such as public management & governance, marketing, statistics or consulting. There she gathered the competence to understand & translate between different kinds of people and rationalities. Mariana has a great passion for innovation. She supported different consulting projects with focus on either business model innovation, new service design or on the shape of co-creation processes in the field of product development. If Mariana is not working she loves to be outdoors, walks through the city, discovers new museums and cafés, pauses in cozy restaurants or relaxes while sailing or skiing.
Sabrina Peterer is a communication and design expert. As 1030 Consultant she primarily accompanies innovation projects focusing on communication. Sabrina is passionate about bringing creativity and economy together to create sustainable solutions. Due to her interest in creative industries as well as her experience as communication manager in a variety of organizations, Sabrina can easily adapt to different contexts and has developed a distinct intuition in combining diverse perspectives. She holds a master in Management, Organization Studies & Cultural Theory from the University of St.Gallen specializing in change management and organizational development. Besides the innovation world she gets enthusiastic about food and photography, loves to get inspired at art and design exhibitions and enjoys discovering new cultures while traveling.
As a digital marketing strategist, Miriam consults and supports businesses in recognizing new opportunities, adopting transformation strategies and implementing customer-centric marketing practices. Miriam has worked over the last 7 years in various leading roles in the digital industry focusing on the area of strategic marketing and business development. Early on, she worked as a head of online-marketing and social media for various startups as well as international corporations such as Michael Page International and MicroStrategy. Miriam developed and led a range of innovation initiatives and developed formats such as the Digital Readiness Index and the Digital Transformation Award, where she gained a deeper understanding of the state of digital transformation in different industries. Besides her passion for Marketing, Technology and Digital Transformation, Miriam enjoys surfing and snowboarding as well as getting to know new countries and cultures.
Joel Smylie supports the 1030 team as a freelance consultant and Start-up Liaison Manager. Having completed his undergraduate degree at Cornell University in the US and graduate degree at Queens University in Canada, his focus is now on cutting edge technologies and digital media, grounded with a background in Finance and Strategy. Beyond the business and tech world, this native Canadian enjoys spending his time boating, golfing, and travelling.
Theresa Moctezuma studied Business Administration with a major in Entertainment in Los Angeles where she worked in the Entertainment Business for 5 years. Her professional focus lies on Online Marketing and Social Media, specifically in the millennial target audience. The born and raised Austrian works and lives in Los Angeles supporting the 1030 team as a remote freelancer, especially with research projects. She also contributes lots of new stories to our 1030 blog as our satellite in the entertainment capital. Things she loves: music, originality, an open mind, apple pie à la mode.
