Vienna citizens pride themselves for living in the world’s “Most Livable City” (according to the Mercer Quality of Living Survey). But now we have another good reason for being proud of our city: for two days (Oct 30-31), Vienna became the mecca for young innovators and startups from all over the world during the second annual Pioneers Festival.
On Wednesday and Thursday (Oct. 30-31) the famous Hofburg Palace was brimming with entrepreneurial spirit and brilliant ideas. Though currently mostly a platform for startups to connect and build upon each other, the event is expected to attract more and more investors and visitors from big corporations looking for innovative ideas.
Attendees who joined the Konica Minolta-sponsored Academy lessons were given valuable insight and advice on how to successfully run or work with a startup company. Instructors included Dave McClure of 500startups and Chris Barton of Shazam. But even outside the Academy there were many accomplished startup companies (such as Runtastic, Evernote, Kickstarter, etc.), willing to share their success stories.
To get a little impression of the event, view the video and photos below. We cannot wait to take advantage of this great networking opportunity and inspiring experience again next year! Hope to see you, too! 😉
